Free kakeibo template: calculate your month and print your sheet
Enter your income and savings goal. The tool splits your money across the four kakeibo pillars, works out your weekly and daily limit and lets you print a sheet ready to fill in by hand.
Everything is calculated in your browser. Nothing is stored or sent.
Your weekly limit (kakeibo is lived week by week)
How to use your kakeibo sheet
- Enter your real income for this month, not the income you wish you had.
- Decide how much you save first. It is the second kakeibo question and the one that changes the outcome most.
- Split what is left across the four pillars. 50/30/10/10 is a starting point, not a rule.
- Write each expense under its pillar during the month and check the weekly limit when in doubt.
- At month end, answer the fourth question: how can I improve?
The four kakeibo pillars
Rent, food, bills, transport, health.
Leisure, dining out, treats, non-essential shopping.
Books, courses, music, cinema, personal growth.
Gifts, repairs, surprises and the unexpected.
If your fixed costs exceed half your income, use the “Tight” split and cut wants first, not culture. If you have slack every month, “Grow” gives more weight to what makes you learn and enjoy life without touching your savings.

Frequently asked questions
Is what I type stored anywhere?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser. The page sends your figures to no server and uses no tracking cookies.
Which split should I use?
Start with 50/30/10/10 and adjust after a month of real data. There is no official kakeibo split — what matters is that savings come off the top.
Does it work with irregular income?
Yes. Use what you actually earned that month. If unsure, start from your lowest recent income and save the difference in good months.
How do I print or save the sheet as PDF?
Press “Print my kakeibo sheet”. In the print dialog choose your printer or “Save as PDF”.
Is it the same as the app?
No. The tool calculates one month’s split. The Zaimu app adds expense logging, a 72-hour impulse filter, monthly reflection, savings goals and history, all on your phone.
